Latex-Mylar Conscious (2002): The sound sources for this piece were latex-mylar balloons filled with helium and then bounced off of each other like heated molecules. This behavior was chosen because it mimics the molecules of the brain moving during a stream of consciousness. The sound sources were recorded and processed with a convolution filter in order to blend a percussive sound made by one of the collisions with the sound of the collisions in their entirety. latex-mylar conscious [mp3] |
